Stroke Development

Ages: 3yrs old and up | Levels: 6–12 | Private & Group Lessons Available

After mastering survival swim skills, your child is ready to take the next step: Stroke Development. At Flipkick Swim Academy, we guide swimmers through a structured, progressive program that builds strong stroke technique, confidence, and a love for swimming.

Our program focuses on all four competitive strokes—freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly—taught with a strong emphasis on body alignment, breathing, and efficient movement in the water.

A young girl in a swimsuit with a swim cap practices her stroke technique beneath the surface of the pool as she trains for competitive swimming.
A swimmer in a colorful swimsuit glides underwater in a pool, arms extended forward, practicing her stroke.

Our Stroke Development program builds directly on the Swim-Float-Swim (SFS) foundation.

The SFS method establishes essential body position and breathing patterns that seamlessly support stroke technique—without causing confusion. Swimmers can continue to rely on SFS as a safety skill while gaining new stroke mechanics.

It allows kids to play, explore, and swim independently even as they transition into more formal stroke development.
